Getting to know Megan Loving

My name is Megan Loving, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee and Virginia. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from East Tennessee State University and bring nearly a decade of mental health experience across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. As a counselor, my personal philosophy is to be a supportive facilitator who guides you through whatever challenges you have faced or are currently facing in life. I am highly motivated and patient-focused, and I am a trauma-informed EMDR therapist. Whether the issues arise from relationships, past experiences, current struggles, abuse, or simply a desire to understand why you react the way you do to life's situations, I am passionate about helping you develop the courage and coping skills needed to face the difficult and uncomfortable aspects of life. My goal is to support your healing and help you become the best version of yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

*Please fill out all paperwork at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. WE REQUIRE A CARD ON FILE for all clients in the event of late cancellation or no show. Failure to complete paperwork within the requested time frame WILL result in a rescheduled appointment.* I'm a group practice owner, Certified EMDR therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant (I help teach other therapists how to enhance their use of EMDR) and I facilitate weekend trainings for EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program (EMDR-HAP). I've taken advanced trainings in EMDR to include topics of structural dissociation, complex trauma, attachment-based EMDR, early trauma protocol (ages 1-3), resetting basic affect circuits and more. I love continuing to learn so I can bring that information to my clients and enhance their capacity to heal.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin with an intake that takes around an hour gathering history, current symptoms, understanding of family dynamics, current stressors, major life events, family history of mental illness, any history of suicidality and more. Beyond that, I begin the treatment plan and we jump into the work at the rate that is comfortable for the client. Some people are ready to dive in right off the bat while others need time to prepare to be able to sit with the discomfort due to the amount of trauma they've experienced. Either way, we'll go at the rate that is comfortable for the client.

Ongoing session: $100 for 60 minutes
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
