Psychotherapist
MO
Hello, I'm Megan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I've been practicing since 2004, and I hold a Master’s of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from Maryville University. My journey in mental health has been enriched by over twenty years of experience as a clinical social worker in a diverse public school setting, where I've had the privilege of engaging with both adolescents and adults in their therapeutic journeys. I am dedicated to providing a warm and non-judgmental environment for people of all identities seeking support for a wide variety of experiences, including grief, anxiety, depression, stress, body image/self-esteem, trauma recovery, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, and life transitions. I have extensive experience working with immigrant and refugee populations transitioning to life in the US, and I am comfortable working within different cultures and religions, drawing on years of cross-cultural training and experiences. Mindfulness and emotional awareness are at the heart of my therapeutic approach. I work collaboratively with individuals to increase mindfulness and awareness of what might be contributing to their life concerns. Together, we acquire the skills and confidence needed for increased empowerment towards optimal mental health and well-being. I believe that a caring, supportive relationship in counseling can help people find more joy in their daily existence and assist in changing habits that may be hindering daily life. My approach is straightforward yet gentle, and I am sensitive to individual issues, family conflicts, and workplace complications. With a variety of therapeutic tools and skills at my disposal, I am equipped to help clients meet their goals. I am also committed to providing an LGBTQIA+-affirming space that is validating for individuals of all identities. Outside of my therapy role, I am an avid animal lover, world traveler, and I enjoy spending time in nature, especially near the ocean. If you feel that we might be a good fit, I invite you to reach out and begin this journey towards healing and growth together.
