Psychotherapist
MO
Hi there, I'm Megan! My approach is inclusive and affirming, providing a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to express themselves authentically and work through life's challenges. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while integrating art as a therapeutic tool to help clients explore emotions, challenge negative thought patterns, and build coping skills in a creative and supportive environment. I provide a supportive approach to care that focuses on creating a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard, validated, and empowered. This approach emphasizes active listening, collaboration, and personalized interventions. I integrate strength-based techniques, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practices to foster resilience, self-awareness, and growth. Have you been struggling to navigate your life in this fast-paced world? Many marginalized groups are being targeted, and it can feel confusing and scary. I am here to support you through uncomfortable feelings and help make meaningful changes in your life. My ideal client is a late teen to older adult who identifies with the LGBTQIA+ community or is an ally. My communication style prioritizes clarity, kindness, and encouragement, using a calm tone and positive language to foster trust and connection. It also includes respecting boundaries, acknowledging strengths, and empowering individuals to find their own path toward growth and healing. My journey into mental healthcare began at a young age. I always knew I wanted to be in a helping profession. Being a queer, older sister to a brother who is Deaf and has Cerebral Palsy, I have been around marginalized populations my entire life. With my passion for art making and helping others, I pursued an undergraduate degree in Art Therapy and earned a Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University. I have worked for over twenty years with individuals and groups.

I never received the zoom link for the meeting or any communication from the provider. I called 10 times and were hung up on most of those times or the call would just fall thru
