My name is Megan, and my journey has not been a straight road. In 2012, I decided I wanted a career change and went back to school to become a therapist. With a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Monmouth University, I luckily did not have to completely start over but did need some psychology classes before I started graduate school. In 2015, I graduated with my Master's of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Centenary University.
I mention this because I know what it's like to lack passion and need a change in your current situation. I felt anxious and overwhelmed with the unknown road ahead. Although the future is never certain, I am confident and happy with the decision I made.
What should a new client know about working with you?
The first session is going to be the big picture of what you're experiencing, your past, family, etc and goal setting. Each session after is what you feel is most important to discuss that week. While also following up on progress towards any short terms goals we set.
You can also expect to be actively listened to and supported by me. We will collaborate together on the best path to help you with whatever you are struggling with (anxiety, depression, family conflict, etc). You will be validated, heard, and supported by me in our work together. You will be accepted for being you authentic and true selves.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
