Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following her degree, Megan joined the Peace Corps and spent two years working on a variety of youth and community development projects in Eswatini, a small country in southern Africa. Following her time in the Peace Corps, Megan worked as a school social worker at a therapeutic day school for students on the Autism spectrum. Most recently, Megan has spent the last five years working in community mental health as a therapist, lead therapist and then manager of crisis services. Megan utilizes a strengths-based approach in therapy. She likes to work with each client to determine which modality will best help them meet their therapy goals. Megan has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), complex trauma, Social Thinking, and crisis intervention. Megan believes the best opportunity for change comes from not only working with the client but also ensuring that each client is building a system of support outside of therapy in order to continue this work outside of sessions. Megan enjoys working with adolescents and adults, with a particular focus on the emerging adult population. “Changing your mind doesn’t make you a flip-flopper or a hypocrite. It means you were open to learning” – Adam Grant
