Getting to know Megan Wilson

Megan Wilson is a clinical social worker at Jeanes Mental Health Services (JMHS) who supports individuals working through anxiety, OCD, trauma, and the emotional weight that comes with major life stressors. Many of Megan’s clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to navigate what they’re experiencing. She meets people with steadiness and compassion, helping them feel understood and supported as they begin to make sense of what they’re carrying. Megan enjoys working with various age populations ranging from pre-teens to older adults. Megan's approach centers on identifying the deeper drivers behind thoughts, emotions, and behaviors rather than only addressing surface‑level symptoms. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients understand their internal experiences, build emotional regulation skills, and make practical changes that carry into their daily lives. In session, Megan is warm, direct, and steady. She creates a grounded, non‑judgmental environment where clients can slow down, examine what’s been shaping their reactions, and begin practicing new ways of responding. Her work emphasizes clarity, consistency, and meaningful follow‑through. At Jeanes Mental Health Services, Megan tailors her work to each individual, supporting clients as they heal from trauma, manage anxiety and OCD, strengthen relationships, and navigate life transitions with greater intention and confidence. "Life is a series of commas, not periods." - Matthew McConaughey

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy is grounded in three principles that I hold as truths. 1. A good therapist is aware that they do not have the answers but the tools to help the client find the answers. 2. Life is full of lessons that constantly repeat themselves. These lessons are designed to teach us the tools needed to be the best versions of ourselves. 3. Everything we experience is designed for our good. It is our job to find the good in challenges and grow into the best possible version of ourselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At our first meeting, I want to truly understand what brought you here. I often rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because of its transformative power. Together, we'll uncover how your thoughts shape your emotions. I'm here to support and guide you, helping you challenge those thoughts. Let's work side by side, paving your path to greater emotional peace and clarity.
