Mehle Armstrong, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Howdy! My name is Mehle Armstrong and I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas and Oklahoma with an Alaska license pending approval. My degree is in clinical psychology with a forensic and criminal justice minor. I have been counseling for about 15 years. My background in is many areas, but I am certified in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for those struggling with trauma. My approach My counseling style is eclectic and varies depending on who you are and what you need. I mostly use some form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) because it is a staple in many types of approaches. I also use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, interpersonal processing therapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness/grounding, and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). My focus I work with all ages from 3-99 and all demographics. I am well-versed in most conditions; however, eating disorders are not my strong suit. My communication style I try to get to know you and let you know me. It's important that you feel comfortable telling me things and not act like strangers. My journey to mental healthcare I began studying behavior around age 14. My mother was an RN and she taught me compassion and empathy. I want to help people help themselves. There is no reason to suffer and struggle if someone is there for you, and maybe help you get the part of your life back that you might have lost or never found.
