Getting to know Melanie Deckman
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/LCSW. I received my Masters in Social Work/M.S.W. from Barry University in 1993. I am intensely trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy/DBT. I love spending time with my family and friends.
I received a Bachelor in Science/B.S. from The University of Florida in 1988. I enjoyed my major in Psychology. At this point I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a Clinical provider.
My friends always encouraged me to live my dream. Fast forward to the present time and here I am living my dream as a therapist. My experience as a therapist has been rewarding as well as providing me with life lessons and self-growth. My mental health has always been a priority. I practice habits on a daily basis that I share and assist my clients with.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My clients can expect to take away the ability to increase skills in coping, problem solving , emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
