You’re the one everyone depends on—the strong one, the responsible one, the one who keeps everything moving even when you’re overwhelmed inside. You may be successful, dependable, and capable, yet still find yourself overthinking conversations, questioning your decisions, putting everyone else’s needs before your own, or feeling like you always have to have it together. Maybe you’ve spent so much time surviving, achieving, and caring for others that you’re no longer sure what it feels like to simply be you. I work primarily with teens and women navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and attachment concerns, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, and patterns of overthinking or self-doubt. Some clients come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to change, while others simply know, “I don’t want to keep feeling like this.” Both are welcome. My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, collaborative, and intentional. I believe therapy should give you a safe place to process what you’re experiencing while also helping you understand why certain patterns continue to show up in your life. Together, we can explore the connection between your past experiences and present-day thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. I incorporate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Rather than using the same approach with every client, I tailor our work to your individual needs, goals, personality, and experiences. You deserve a space where you don’t have to perform, have all the answers, or carry everything alone. Healing isn’t about becoming someone completely new—it’s about reconnecting with yourself beneath the survival mode, rebuilding trust in yourself, and learning how to create a life that feels authentic to you. Healing starts here.

What should a new client know about working with you?

One of the most important things I want new clients to know is that you do not have to have therapy figured out before you arrive. You don’t need the perfect words, a perfectly organized story, or even a clear explanation for why you feel the way you do. If all you know is that something needs to change, we can start there and figure out the rest together. My style as a therapist is warm, conversational, supportive, and down-to-earth. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can genuinely be yourself. Some sessions may include tears and difficult conversations, while others may include laughter, celebrating progress, or recognizing a breakthrough you didn’t realize you had made. There is room for all of it. You can also expect me to be engaged and intentional in our work together. Therapy with me is not simply sitting in a room while I nod and ask, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll ask thoughtful questions, provide psychoeducation, help you recognize patterns, teach practical coping and emotional regulation skills, and gently challenge you when I notice thoughts or behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. I’m especially interested in helping clients understand the “why” underneath the “what.” Instead of only addressing an anxious thought, relationship conflict, emotional reaction, or people-pleasing behavior, we may explore where that pattern came from, what triggers it, what purpose it once served, and whether it still serves you today. Most importantly, this is a collaborative process. I won’t expect you to change overnight, and I won’t push you to explore something before you’re ready. We’ll move at a pace that allows you to feel supported while still making meaningful progress toward your goals. You spend enough of your life being who everyone else needs you to be. In this space, you get to show up as you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with understanding you as a whole person—not simply a diagnosis or list of symptoms. During our initial sessions, I’ll learn what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, important relationships and life experiences, previous coping strategies, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. Together, we’ll develop goals that feel meaningful, realistic, and specific to the life you want to create. Once we understand where you are and where you’d like to go, we begin connecting the dots. We may identify recurring thoughts, emotional triggers, relationship or attachment patterns, coping behaviors, boundaries, core beliefs, or earlier experiences that influence how you respond to situations today. I want you to understand not only what you’re experiencing, but also why it may be happening. From there, we work toward change. Depending on your needs, sessions may include processing experiences, psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, emotional regulation strategies, mindfulness, communication and boundary-setting skills, behavioral changes, self-esteem work, or exploring the deeper roots of recurring patterns. I incorporate CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy while adapting our work as your needs evolve. I believe therapy should translate into your everyday life. We’ll discuss how to practice what you’re learning outside of our sessions so the progress you make doesn’t exist only inside the therapy room. Throughout our work, we’ll revisit your goals and discuss what’s improving, what still feels difficult, and whether we need to adjust our approach. Progress isn’t always linear, and therapy isn’t about perfection. It’s about developing greater awareness, healthier responses, stronger coping skills, and confidence in your ability to navigate life. My goal is for you to eventually recognize: “I understand myself differently, I respond differently, and I trust myself to handle this.” 💕
