Getting to know Melissa Bautista

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master’s in Counseling and Guidance from California State University, San Bernardino. I practice CBT and Narrative therapy. My approach to therapy is to help clients develop the tools needed to manage complicated feelings and situations, while also giving them space to express their stories and guiding them in re-authoring those stories in ways that align more closely with their goals. I work with clients dealing with depression and anxiety disorders and am most comfortable treating symptoms such as emotional distress, depression, anxiety, self-management challenges, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships. I strive to create a comfortable and open environment where clients feel safe to express themselves. I believe that a key part of my practice—and why many clients continue to return—is the nonjudgmental and inviting atmosphere I provide during sessions. I encourage clients to set their own goals for therapy while reminding them to stay mindful of the outcomes they hope to achieve. Clients can expect to be welcomed into a safe space where they are free to open up about their struggles without judgment.
