Getting to know Melissa Doerfer

Through great pain comes better awareness and understanding about ourselves and the world around us. My journey as a counselor began during my experience with war deployments; which inspired my search to find ways to help others who are hurting. Exposure to military life changed my then career from medical laboratory work to becoming a therapy provider. After completing my Master's degrees in Couples & Family Counseling; I have worked extensively with the court system; with families in need; and with individuals of all ages. I have worked in agencies and in private practice. I enjoy working with couples.
