What should a new client know about working with you?

You will find a warm, clear, and non-judgmental space where your story sets the pace. I tailor treatment to your goals, culture, and preferences, always explaining what we are doing and why. I balance the exploration of patterns with concrete tools to practice between sessions (e.g., cognitive reframing, emotional regulation, value-guided actions). With children and adolescents, I collaborate with caregivers when appropriate to maintain consistency at home and school, while respecting the young person’s voice. We set clear goals, review progress regularly, and adjust the plan as your needs change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session, we focus on getting to know you: your current concerns, history, support systems, and what you’d like to see change. We define 1–3 meaningful goals and agree on a plan (usually weekly or biweekly sessions). I’ll share an initial roadmap with you: areas to work on, skills to develop, and how we’ll measure progress. Follow-up sessions include a brief check-in, skills practice (CBT/ACT, grounding, communication), and collaborative problem-solving around current stressors. I usually provide short exercises or reflections to apply between sessions. We review goals periodically and use simple indicators (symptoms, daily functioning) to track progress. With your consent, I can also coordinate with schools, doctors, or other supports when helpful. Everything is approached within a trauma-informed and culturally competent framework, moving at a safe and sustainable pace.
