What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is predominantly person-centered, relational and strengths-based. I view our work together through an intersectional and holistic lens as I believe how we both move through the world is an integral part of our work together. I earned my master's degree in mental health counseling at New York University and completed my basic training in EMDR therapy. My professional background includes many years as a mental health professional in suicide prevention and crisis intervention, with a particular focus on supporting LGBTQ folks.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I aim to utilize a collaborative, trauma-informed, and individualized treatment plan to best support you in exploring how you are feeling and where you want to go. Some of my goals are to ensure you feel heard, deepen your awareness, and continue to grow session to session. More importantly, though, my main goal is to support you in reaching your own goals in therapy. You can anticipate going over these goals in our first session together, alongside getting to know one another and reviewing your history/background. Sessions thereafter will be anchored by these goals and may occasionally include assessments, assignments, and activities to provide further insight and support.
