Getting to know Melissa Huffman

I offer specialized support tailored to your unique journey. Together, we explore avenues for authorship over your life while acknowledging the very real nature of the world and society at large. My focus extends to various aspects of life, including anxiety, career counseling, stress management, life transitions, and spirituality. For individuals, particularly those who are neurodivergent and/or LGBTQ+, the quest for meaning and safety is paramount. Through collaborative counseling, we cultivate resilience and empowerment on the path to wellness. I hold a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Liberty University, which informs my compassionate and client-centered approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and come from a variety of spiritual backgrounds, but I have worked predominantly with pagan and deconstructing Christian clients. Much of my work has focused on career/education development, anxiety, depression, and LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent issues. I work with my clients to find empowerment, justice, and authenticity in their lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer narrative and existential therapies, addressing societal impacts on mental health. Through talk therapy and supplemental practices, I provide neurodivergent-friendly support, focusing on strengths and client-centered growth. I believe each client is the expert in their own lives, and I walk alongside them in their journey.
