Melissa employs an individualized, eclectic approach including interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to meet the needs of each client. Melissa is passionate about social justice and uses a systems approach that views individual clients in the context of interconnected systems like family, community and society.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am interested in learning about you! I use an eclectic, collaborative approach to meet the needs of each client. Each person is an individual, and therapy is not a one size fits all. I always tell clients they are in the driver's seat, and it is important to me to respect my clients' goals, preferences and their preferred pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical fist session would include a thorough assessment and collaborative treatment planning. Subsequent sessions will focus on working toward your personal therapeutic goals.
