My approach I am well-versed in several counseling styles and will adapt my style to meet your needs. I often use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. In some situations, I may use strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT works well to help people learn how to regulate emotions. I also use EMDR, a therapy approach that helps resolve past traumatic events. Above all else, I work from a compassionate space, accepting people as whoever they are without bias or judgment. My focus I work with adolescents and adults who are managing depression, anxiety, life transitions, and those seeking support for self-esteem issues. Life is hard, especially when you don't feel like yourself. We can work together to develop a plan to get things back on track. My communication style I'm kind, gentle, and judgment-free. I like to use humor and real-life examples to help get my point across. I allow a lot of room for free expression and appreciate active participation. My journey to mental healthcare As a kid, I always wanted to help people and animals. As I grew up, I knew I wanted to continue with that mindset, but I wasn't quite sure how. I majored in Sociology, but quickly realized that working with individuals was my calling. I went back to school for my Master's in counseling. I have worked with a large variety of people, and seeing my clients gain confidence or find peace makes my work incredibly rewarding.
