When I think about mental health care, I want to provide a safe environment for my clients, free of any judgment or pressure. I strive to be a very empathetic listener who believes in a client-centered approach to working through the various issues that may arise in their lives. I have a background in education as well as counseling. I hold a Master's degree in School Counseling from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, and I am certified in school counseling as well as in professional counseling and therapeutic services. I also have a graduate degree in sports medicine with a focus on sports psychology and have counseled athletes from age 10 through 18. I have worked in mental health care environments, such as outpatient PCP/IOP programs and inpatient care for adults and children, on and off since December of 2016. I have experience with general mental health as well as chemical dependency. I am licensed as a professional counselor and hold a secondary intern license in chemical dependency counseling. I work with all types of clients, from kids to older adults. I enjoy helping anyone that I can, but I would say I have more direct experience with kids and adolescents.
