Getting to know Melissa Santana

I am the author of The Restore Model for Relational Trauma Recovery, a trauma-informed workbook with reflective and somatic exercises. If you are feeling overwhelmed by stress, emotionally exhausted, or having trouble focusing, you are not alone. As a counselor with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy College, I help clients navigate change and life transitions with compassion, psychoeducation, and practical coping tools. I work with college students, professionals, and retirees to reduce distress, build resilience, and move through difficult seasons with greater clarity and support. If you are tired of struggling alone, I welcome the opportunity to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My work is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. I integrate insight, psychoeducation, and practical tools to help you navigate challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your individual needs. In our work together, we begin by creating space to understand what has been weighing on you, what patterns may be keeping you stuck, and what goals feel most important to you. From there, I draw from an integrative approach to help you build insight, develop coping tools, and move through life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.
