What should a new client know about working with you?

I expect therapy to be a group effort, and I aim to serve the client each step of the way. This means homework for those who need more structure and verbal guidance for those who do not. We will try many different coping strategies and exercises to see what works best and build your toolbox. Progress is a conversation about how things are evolving as well as ongoing screenings for symptom management.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will complete an Intake session where your history and needs are discussed so we can establish goals for treatment. The direction of our work is based on what the client is hoping to change or understand better in their day to day lives. This might include trauma work, anxiety and depression symptom management, and help with life transitions such as changing jobs, relationship troubles, or particular situational stressors. Sessions are 50-55 minutes long and usually weekly or every other week depending on availability and acuity. I am available via text or email between sessions as needed.
