Melissa Winkelmann

Psychotherapist
1544 Sawdust, Ste 290, Spring, TX
My name is Melissa Winkelmann, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy intern completing my graduate training at Abilene Christian University. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston and hold a certification in Nonprofit Leadership. Before entering the therapy field, I worked in Montessori education for 16 years, primarily with children in their first plane of development (birth to six years) while partnering closely with their families. This experience deeply shaped how I understand relationships, attachment, and the importance of feeling safe, seen, and supported, especially during life’s earliest and most vulnerable seasons. I carry this developmental and relational lens with me into the therapy room. As a therapist-in-training, I work under the close supervision of Elisa Squier, which allows me to provide thoughtful, ethical, and well-supported care. I value curiosity, empathy, and collaboration, and I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are, without judgment or pressure. I believe meaningful change happens through authentic connection, and I view therapy as a partnership built on trust, respect, and compassion.
