Psychotherapist
IL
Welcome! My name is Melissa Zielinski, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Illinois, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor’s degree from North Central College. I work with adult and adolescent clients, specializing in goal-oriented, insight-based therapy for stress, depression, anxiety, and life adjustment. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and various other evidence-based therapies to assist you in meeting YOUR goals and getting to a healthier headspace! My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the client I work with. I first seek to understand my client—not only what brought them to therapy but also how they see and understand the world. Next, we work on setting goals the client hopes to achieve. Then I choose the appropriate therapy, often Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to take steps toward progress. My focus My experience includes clients of all ages. My therapy approach is a good fit for adults, adolescents, and older adults who may be working through life transitions, stress, relationship difficulties, family communication issues, peer difficulties, work changes, depression, anxiety, and life adjustments. I try to provide clients with a "toolbox" for the future to better equip them for life’s roller coasters. My communication style My communication style is friendly, kind, accepting, and patient. I want my clients to feel at ease when talking to me. I am able to listen without judgment so we can work together to get to a healthier you. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist because I felt I could help people who were going through difficult times. I enjoy helping a person find a new perspective and giving insight and hope to others. I find it exciting to watch a client grow, learn new skills, and become empowered through knowledge they didn’t have before. My goals for you
