Hi there, I'm Melody! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas at El Paso. I use a client-centered and strength-based approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with individuals and families. My approach My areas of expertise involve helping my clients improve their ability to manage negative thoughts and emotions, enhance coping skills, increase self-awareness, develop better problem-solving abilities, and improve relationships. Other areas of expertise include helping my clients improve their self-esteem, develop better communication skills, reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, and develop the ability to respond to challenging situations more effectively by reframing negative thinking patterns. Ultimately, my goal is to help individuals gain more control over their thoughts and behaviors to live a more fulfilling life. My focus I work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I am trained and competent to work with people of various ethnicities and cultures, a wide span of ages from adolescence to adulthood, and mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and self-harming behaviors. My communication style As a Clinical Social Worker, I practice unconditional positive regard with all of my clients. I do this by fully accepting and respecting a client without judgment, regardless of their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or life circumstances. I work to create a safe space for my clients to openly explore their issues and work toward positive change. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a Clinical Social Worker and practice as a therapist for the opportunity to make a tangible positive impact on individuals and families by helping those facing challenges, advocating for social justice, and empowering people to overcome obstacles. I have a strong sense of compassion, empathy, and a desire to make a difference in the world.
