“Meryl is a gem. I have been in therapy with her for over a year. I don't know where I would be without her. She is caring, smart, patient, solution oriented, empowering and has an amazing tool called EMDR. This changed my life for the best. This brain rewiring through eye movement is not something I was familiar with but was definitely open to. It is a process and you need to be ready and open to it, but it works, it really does. For anyone with trauma, this is a great approach. I can't recommend Meryl enough.”

Getting to know Meryl Galvan

Hi! I'm Meryl. Do you feel as though no one quite understands or listens to you? Do you want to learn ways to communicate your needs and cope with the challenges in your life? I devote my practice to helping adults such as yourself overcome mental health issues and personal conflicts so you can thrive in life and get back to what matters most. Whether you have been impacted by trauma, grief, relationships, or health issues, I am here to help you achieve your goals. I provide a therapeutic approach that is patient and engaging. I bring compassion to our sessions while helping you find solutions to the challenges in your life. I am direct and sincere as I allow you to gain what you need from therapy including insight, coping skills, and resolutions. I believe that therapy is work and I am willing to put the work in with you. I do much more than listen and talk. I provide lasting coping skills and insight that you will be able to use not just with your struggles now, but with future issues that may come about in your life. Therapy is work that pays off even years down the way! I love seeing people improve their lives and ultimately feel more comfortable with themselves and the world. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Florida, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively. If you are looking specifically for trauma-focused treatment, I am a Certified Therapist in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and would love to explore this as an option for you. I look forward to hearing from you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, I will get to know you and your struggles, and together we can determine how you can best thrive in therapy. Through our work together you will gain skills to take with you through life while also uncovering and addressing how your struggles came to be in the first place. By the time you complete therapy, you will be a stronger version of yourself and able to recommit to the things you care about most in your life.
