Getting to know Micah Goldstein

Welcome! You're not alone anymore. Do you find yourself stuck in your head or feeling overwhelmed? Moody, anxious, or even depressed at times? Unsure how to feel better or how to fix things? Did you know that, with the right guidance, you can free yourself from the past and start feeling better? I can help you lift the emotional weight, enabling you to feel lighter and free from the burden of past experiences. Your unconscious mind holds the key to your individual health and healing. Let me help you tap into that power and learn to quiet the chaos. I'm here to help. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Yeshiva University and over 30 years of experience practicing the art of social work in various settings and with a diverse range of clients. My goal is to help you navigate your journey of self-discovery and change. Throughout my career, I've been practicing psychotherapy and working with a wide array of issues and challenges. I specialize in understanding and treating mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression, as well as addressing concerns related to self-esteem, self-worth, and relationship issues. Additionally, I have over 20 years of experience in the addiction field. Clinically, I'm an object relations-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapist. I consider myself somewhat of an “old-school” therapist, bringing depth and insight to my work to support meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The road to change is not easy process and can be difficult, sometimes painful. But you don’t come to therapy to talk about how good things are going. You come to therapy to discuss the difficulties in your life and how to get better because obviously your way hasn’t been working. Trust the process. As we form a trusted, empathic, supportive, bond, we explore your feelings and unconscious, past and your present. Then we begin to understand the roots of your current problems and how to cope differently. We can't help you solve your issues if you don’t understand why you have them in first place. Please contact me when you’re ready.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
