Michael Borrero, LPC, MS

Psychotherapist
TX
I work with teens, young adults, adults, and couples who feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship struggles that are hard to untangle. You may be dealing with mood swings, shutdown, conflict, impulsive reactions, identity stress, or a season of life that feels heavier than expected. I help clients better understand their patterns, feel more steady, and build a healthier way forward. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I use tools from CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and IFS to help clients manage emotions, challenge painful thought patterns, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their values. As a Spanish-speaking therapist and an immigrant myself, I also bring a personal understanding of identity, belonging, and adjustment. I offer therapy in person in Houston and online across Texas for individuals and couples.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I especially help clients who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, or exhausted by the ups and downs of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and relationship stress. My work is a strong fit for people who want more stability, better emotional control, and a clearer sense of who they are and how they want to move through life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with training in trauma treatment and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My background supports clients who need both emotional depth and practical tools for change.
