I'm glad you are here. Asking for support can be difficult for many reasons. If you've made it this far in that difficult process, I'm hoping that you'll feel ready to come a little further and consider scheduling a visit with me so that you can get a feel for whether or not this is right for you. I pride myself on providing care in a collaborative and humanistic fashion. Here, we honor your individual experience, and we move forward in a manner that pays respect and authenticity to your needs, wants, and unique circumstances. I'm looking forward to meeting with you. I would be considered by other mental health professionals to be an eclectic provider, which means that my approach emphasizes the importance of identifying a wide range of potential options that could be helpful to the person I'm working with, practicing flexibility, and distancing myself from "cookie-cutter" or "playbook-style" approaches. I believe in meeting people where they are at and in working at a pace and in such a manner that respects their needs, wants, and circumstances.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During my career, I have worked with nearly every age demographic, including providing for families and couples, and concerns that would bring a person into mental health services. As was mentioned earlier, I strive to provide case and person-specific care. How I would support a person's needs depends on what those needs are. This is a conversation that we would have early in therapy and that we would revisit often to ensure we remain on the same page as we move forward. I would consider myself specializing in the following areas: depression, anxiety, trauma, trauma reactions, relationship difficulties, men's issues, social boundaries, skills building, problem-solving, identity exploration, and issues involving sex/sexuality. I am a BIPOC and LGBTQIA2s+ allied/supportive and sex kink supportive/positive provider. I have been told over the years that my style is direct yet empathetic and kind. I enjoy blending an easy-going demeanor with a problem-solving mindset to help folks. I've also been told that my sense of humor is a welcome aspect of my services, as it has helped others feel welcome, less anxious, and has kept a positive and upbeat spin on our conversations that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Have preferences or needs that differ from these? Let's talk and work together to create a tone and environment that appeals to you and is conducive to success.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Contributing to the well-being of others, helping to ease suffering, advocacy, and working to be a part of things bigger than myself are things of value to me. This field allows me to support all of those values. It's why I decided to get involved in this field. With all of the struggles that our modern world faces and with all of the difficult things that life can throw at us, it spoke to me to try and be a part of the solution and be a force for good; to give others what they may not have anywhere else in their lives. When it comes to your goals, I'll work with you to help identify where you'd like to go and why. We will discuss the options and barriers in front of you and will weigh the pros and cons of each aspect of your situation. We will also spend time looking at the past, should you wish to do so, in the spirit of growing from it as it pertains to the future. I will encourage you, challenge you, push you to consider new ideas, and I will share my observations and professional experience with you. During our initial visit, I will be working to become more familiar with you and your situation. I'm hoping that you'll feel free and comfortable enough to do the same with me. I will spend some time explaining things like confidentiality to you, my background and credentials, and how I view services. From there, we will work together on how best to move forward with our time together. I encourage questions, and I will be encouraging you to lean into this process and to focus on your authentic self and how you need to do things.
