What should a new client know about working with you?

What I believe I can provide for a client is patience, compassion, and understanding. With me, there will be no need to rush to the right answer or feel pressured to arrive at a destination before you are ready. My aim is to get to the root of what causes you pain or distress, not to simply focus on your symptoms. My approach is relational and conversational. In sessions, I strive to provide a warm, compassionate and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, worries, and life's challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session together will give us an opportunity to get to know each other better, for me to better understand what has brought you to therapy, to hear what your challenges are, and to get a sense of what you'd like to work on. Furthermore, during this initial session, this a great time (but doesn't have to be) to explore family history, relationship problems, and explore traumatic events from your early life and developmental years. As a therapist, my approach is a joining of Motivational Interviewing and Psychodynamically informed approaches (e.g., Object Relations, Contemporary Relational, Attachment Theory, Self Psychology, etc.). I work collaboratively with clients to identify goals and explore core concerns such as relationship issues, anxiety, depression, parenting, PTSD, grief, and more. Taking the first step in therapy can feel overwhelming and challenging, but I'm here to be a fellow traveler on your journey and a support person in your corner. I offer a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. Together, we can work to help you live a more fulfilling life
