PA
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 32 years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have extensive training in the areas in which I practice and always follow the guidelines for ethical outcomes/evidence-based care. My approach I have extensive training in many therapeutic modalities. Everyone who comes to see me is unique, but here are some of the most common modalities of therapy I employ with individuals. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), I have extensive training in CBT and 32 years of clinical experience successfully helping people with this approach. Motivational Interviewing enhances the individual's treatment options and optimizes their success. Psychoanalytic I enhance individuals' treatment options and optimize their success by using valuable insights gained from psychoanalytic work, helping people see what "makes them tick".Grief Therapy helps people grieve the loss of relationships, the loss of cherished pets, moving locations, changing careers, and the terminal and chronic death of loved ones. Positive Psychology: Keeping the "human experience" front and center by helping people see their strengths within typical human development. Psychological difficulty is not always a pathology. My focus I work best with individuals seeking treatment for anxiety and depressive/bipolar disorders. I specialize in helping individuals newly diagnosed with bipolar disorder to initiate a successful treatment strategy and to stick with it. I have a similar specialty in working with individuals having "anxiety attacks," also known as Panic Disorder. I have a high success rate with individuals who are difficult to engage in therapy or who are hesitant about the therapeutic process. My communication style I love what I do and bring a great deal of enthusiasm to my work, which my clients tell me signals to them HOPE.
