Getting to know Michael LeFever
I am Michael LeFever, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Edmond serving clients throughout Oklahoma City and surrounding areas. I work with adolescents and adults age 16 and older who want to strengthen confidence, explore sexuality, and build resilience. Many of my clients are neurodivergent and I have created a space that is sensory friendly. Together we work on body acceptance, sexuality and sex related issues, identity development, and emotional regulation.
I make sure to take care of my mental health through self care and continuing to take care of my physical health through diet and exercise. I continue to train consistently, weight lifting four days per week and participating in HIIT training. I understand the discipline of physical training, the drive to improve, and the internal pressure to meet personal standards. My approach to therapy is trauma informed and grounded in the connection between mind and body. I utilize the skills and perspectives I have been trained in to help integrate Brainspotting, EMDR, DBT informed skills, psychodynamic talk therapy, and nervous system regulation strategies to reduce emotional intensity and improve focus, confidence, and self trust.
I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Dietetics as well as a Master of Social Work. This foundation allows me to provide holistic care that considers both physiological and psychological factors. I often work in tandem with sports registered dietitians to offer well rounded support, helping clients explore the emotions connected with food, weight, identity, and performance. Through Pride in Self Counseling, PLLC, I provide therapy in Edmond and Oklahoma City for individuals seeking meaningful and lasting change
