Getting to know Michael Malone

My name is Mike. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, currently working exclusively online. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Alabama. Throughout my career, my goal has been to help others better understand the difficulties they are facing and find a path to work through those challenges. I accomplish this goal firstly by openly and without judgment meeting you where you are. My approach includes principles from multiple theorists, each offering benefits depending on the issues you are facing. Working together, our primary focus will be on the present-the here and now that is affecting you. That's not to say we won't look at events from your past and the impact they have had on you and your life. The idea is to examine past events and triggers to understand how they inform the present, but we remain focused on the present moment. We will work collaboratively to better understand current problems, set realistic goals for progress, and develop skills necessary not only to overcome current issues but also to face future concerns. My areas of practice include depression, anxiety, stress, grief/loss, trauma, as well as issues related to infertility and stage-of-life challenges.
