Psychotherapist

I believe therapy should be a place where you can speak openly about what is happening in your life without feeling judged or defined by the challenges you are facing. I work with adults who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply unsure of what needs to change, but know that something does. My approach is grounded in the belief that understanding where we have been can help us make sense of where we are today. Together, we can explore the experiences, relationships, patterns, and circumstances that have shaped how you see yourself and the world around you. At the same time, therapy is not only about looking backward. It is also about identifying your strengths, recognizing what is within your control, and finding realistic ways to move toward the life you want. I approach this work with curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person's individual experiences. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is not to tell you who you should be or what decisions you should make. My role is to work alongside you, ask meaningful questions, offer new perspectives, and help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, struggling with relationships, experiencing stress or uncertainty, or trying to break patterns that no longer serve you, my goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, supported, and able to work toward meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect me to be engaged and present with you in therapy. I am not someone who will simply sit back and listen without participating in the conversation. I will ask questions, help you explore patterns, offer different perspectives, and sometimes gently challenge you when I believe it may help you see something in a new way. At the same time, I believe trust takes time. You do not have to walk into your first session knowing exactly what to say or feeling ready to share everything about yourself. We will work at a pace that feels appropriate for you and build our therapeutic relationship along the way. I also believe that people are much more than a diagnosis, a difficult period in their lives, or the choices they have made in the past. I want to understand you as a whole person-where you have been, what matters to you, what has helped you survive difficult moments, and where you hope to go from here. Therapy can involve difficult conversations, but it can also include humor, hope, accomplishments, and moments when you begin recognizing your own growth. My goal is for our work together to feel genuine and collaborative, while also helping you make meaningful progress toward the changes that brought you to therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process includes a phone conversation before we get started to find mutuality in your search for a good fit, then we will review the mechanics of getting started including finding a schedule that works (I am very flexible) and an ensuring a clear understanding of the financial obligation of our work. If utilizing benefits, your insurance company is called before our first appointment for clarity and certainty. Then, we move forward with scheduling. I almost always can get a new client started within 72 hours.
