Getting to know Michael Morlock
Hi, I'm Mike. My approach to therapy starts with building a strong foundation of trust and safety. I believe that understanding your experience on a deep level is crucial. Together, we'll explore how you arrived at your current situation and identify the underlying causes of your symptoms. I firmly believe that symptoms always make sense in some context; they are often natural reactions to life's challenges. Our goal is to piece together your story and untangle the complexities so we can create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. We'll choose the right therapy modalities that fit your circumstances and help you move forward effectively. I earned my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, in 2011. As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), I offer individual, couples, and family therapy. With 14 years of experience, I've worked in various settings, including a community mental health clinic where I provided therapy to teens and adults, and a therapeutic classroom in a middle school where I conducted individual and group therapy. My journey began with an internship and first placement at a residential treatment center for adults with dual diagnoses of substance abuse disorders and mental health issues.
