I earned my Master's in Social Work from The University of Alabama. I believe my mission is to serve on your team and be an active listener, coach, and guide to help you find options that work best for you. My approach While my training has been anchored by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt techniques, I am also very comfortable with the use of Motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy for more brief therapy needs. Life coaching has become a technique many of the people I have served prefer when working on career and relationship goals. My focus I feel fortunate to have assisted individuals of all ages who desired to work on issues of anxiety, depression, chronic health concerns, and life's many stressors. My experiences have also allowed me to work with the unique needs of individuals from rural communities, faith-based cultures, and the LGBTQ+ family. My communication style The tone of my therapeutic sessions can be adapted to the needs of the person being served. In general, I find that concrete goals developed as a team, with input and guidance from the client, have proven to be most successful. My first session with you The initial session will be an opportunity for the client to share the issue or issues causing the most stress at that time. The therapeutic journey is very fluid, and issues may change rapidly as work is being accomplished.
