It takes courage to take this first step in becoming more of the person you desire to be. I admire your courage and would love to walk alongside you in the next steps that you take. My approach I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients understand how they can overcome their suffering and live into what is most important for them. This approach tends to be solution-focused and can be adaptable to meet your specific strengths and growth areas. It may include mindfulness, behavioral activation, thought tracking, and value exploration. I am certified in trauma therapies if those prove to be necessary, and am happy to work alongside medication providers to contribute towards your growth. This approach helps by helping you to focus on what a good life is and how to get there. If we change how relate to our suffering and thoughts, then it allows us the flexibility to continue to grow in light of the difficulty that we face. My focus Are you unhappy with where you in life or who you are in general? Maybe you find yourself feeling too anxious to pursue your next personal or career goal. Maybe you feel like you are too depressed to find the motivation to take the next steps. I work with adults, typically ages 25-55, to provide skills and insight into how they can become more of who they want to be. I would be excited to work with you to get a picture of where you like to be and make a plan to get there. My communication style I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with you as an empathetic partner. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to be calm and patient. You can also expect me to incorporate humor into the session when it’s appropriate, and to rely on metaphors to help both of us gain a better understanding of your experience.
