Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Michael Newman, LCSW. Life is a mixture of experiences. Many are enriching and pleasurable, while others leave us feeling confused, doubtful, hurt, stressed, or angry. These challenging emotions and the reactions that often accompany them commonly arise in our relationships with partners, children, parents, in our work environment, or in our efforts to create a meaningful path in life. We may realize that we need more than our current resources to creatively navigate life in a way that leads to finding resolution or accommodation to the challenges and fulfillment in our life journey. I have over twenty-five years of experience helping individuals, couples, families, and groups as a counselor in medical settings. Along with counseling, I taught stress management classes and conducted group therapy sessions. Additionally, I have over fifteen years of experience as a counselor and clinician in a neurofeedback clinic. My counseling style is warm, caring, and engaging. I seek to give each person the experience of being clearly seen and deeply understood. This occurs through interactive inquiry into the unique life experiences of each person I work with. As together we explore the sources of anxiety and distress that may have led to our interaction, trust develops and becomes the foundation for continued growth. Gradually, in this safe, supportive, and empathetic space, healing, awareness, and growth occur. Suffering diminishes, and there is an increase in self-understanding and personal freedom.
