Psychotherapist
500 Holly Spgs Rd, Ste 102, Holly Springs, NC
I’m Mike Przybowski, and after growing up in New Jersey with a stop in Chicago, I’ve called North Carolina home for the last 24 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education–School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill and an NC LCMHC-A license, and I’m currently working toward my standard LCMHC license along with further training in trauma (EMDR) and Marriage and Family therapy. My background is extensive: 16 years as a Professional School Counselor, four years as a mental health and medical case manager, and earlier experience in sales, technology, banking, manufacturing, and the restaurant industry. I work with older elementary-age kids (8+) through teenagers, adults, parents, and couples, and as a husband of 24 years and father of two teenagers myself, I bring a grounded, real-world perspective shaped by years of coaching youth sports and navigating public education alongside my own family. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in your success, and my goal is to build the trust it takes to walk alongside you or your child, honestly and without judgment.

Getting to know Michael Przybowski

I’m Mike Przybowski, and after growing up in New Jersey with a stop in Chicago, I’ve called North Carolina home for the last 24 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education–School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill and an NC LCMHC-A license, and I’m currently working toward my standard LCMHC license along with further training in trauma (EMDR) and Marriage and Family therapy. What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a flexible, individualized approach built around your specific background and life journey, not a script. Whether you’re a parent looking for support for your child, a teenager navigating school and identity, an adult managing stress or a career transition, or a couple working through a rough patch, I meet you where you are. I want therapy to feel honest and real, not clinical or distant — part of my goal is helping to break down the stigma around getting support. As Coach Jimmy V once said, “Don’t give up, don’t ever give up” — if you or your child is struggling to laugh, cry, or think clearly about what’s next, I’d be glad to walk beside you and help you get there.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before your first session, our Client Care Coordinator, Heather, will reach out to complete paperwork and make sure I’m a good match for what you’re looking for — so your first session isn’t spent filling out forms. The first one to three sessions are about getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you’d like to work toward. For teens, a parent joins the first session; for couples, both partners attend together. For younger children, the first session is parents only, with both parents encouraged to attend. If parents are divorced, both must consent to treatment. From there, therapy is tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll develop goals together based on what matters most to you. You’re the expert on your life, and I bring the clinical knowledge and tools. We’ll adjust our approach as your needs change, often beginning with weekly sessions and spacing them out as you make progress.
