Michael Strazi, LPC

Michael Strazi, LPC

Psychotherapist
MS
I have been practicing in the mental health field since 1996, and have been independently licensed since 2006. My approach to counseling is person-centered as well as solution-focused, and I have found that success and change are best fostered through open and honest communication in the therapeutic setting. My focus I like to work with adults of all ages who are struggling with life transitions, current or past trauma, anxiety, and depression. I work with clients to build a plan of action focused on empowerment, assertiveness, and improving self-image in order to better manage life's unexpected (and expected) bumps in the road. My approach My approach is person-centered, meaning I strive to meet my clients where they are and to provide therapy focused on their goals and needs. I am also solution-focused and will work together with clients to find solutions to specific problems they are facing. I like to assist my clients in gaining insight into the "why" of emotion and behaviors. My communication style I set a warm, accommodating atmosphere through the use of active listening and supportive or sometimes challenging feedback. I am an empathetic listener and partner in the change process. My journey to mental healthcare I have been interested in psychology and motivations for human behavior since childhood, and have been happy throughout my career to help others find the keys to living a happier life. My goals for you I will work with my clients to set and achieve those goals, both for life and therapy itself, that are most important to them. Goals are often fluid, changing as certain needs are met and others emerge. We may shift focus at times when necessary, making sure to address those issues that are most important to my clients. Our first session During our first session, I will work to gather all the necessary information in order to best plan for your treatment needs, while also spending time getting to know each other to the extent possible.
