Hello, I'm Michael. I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pittsburg State University and have been dedicated to providing mental health services since 2010. With over 20 years in health services, I've had the privilege of working with families in various settings, including schools, residential treatment, hospitals, and community-based organizations.
My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered techniques, but I always strive to find the best fit between the modality and your unique needs. I have extensive experience working with individuals dealing with trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, anger, substance abuse, self-harming behaviors, defiance, low self-esteem, ADHD, social skills/peer relations, and behavioral issues.
I believe that therapy should be a safe space for you to express your feelings, set appropriate boundaries, and understand the intricate connections between your thoughts and behaviors. My goal is to help you gain perspective and insight into these processes, ultimately assisting you in achieving your mental health goals. Building strong, trusting connections with my clients is something I take great pride in.
I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and as a Licensed Behavioral Practitioner in Oklahoma. I am certified to provide individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy.
