Getting to know Michele Frimmer

We don't have to struggle to be who we are; we just have to remove the blocks that inhibit us. It is my intention to guide you through a process of awakening to who you truly are, so that you may begin to live life with a sense of aliveness, trust, purpose, and peace of mind. What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together we will explore, question and slowly dismantle the blocks to your Authenticity. We will exam your thoughts and beliefs and identify behaviors that are no longer serving you. I will help you become aware of the thoughts and feelings that arise in your experience. You will come to realize that by taking responsibility for what you think, believe and do, you actually have a choice. I believe that our relationships can be repurposed as a pathway to healing, if both involved have a similar goal of Loving acceptance and connection. In light of this, I see our therapeutic relationship as sacred because of its shared goal of healing each and every time we show up for one another.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am a Certified Gestalt Psychotherapist, Licensed Psychoanalyst and Licensed Art Educator. I work with the following approaches during our sessions: Gestalt Therapy, Relational Talk Therapy, Guided Imagery, Somatic Experiencing, Dreamwork, Mindfulness Practices & Art Therapy. I work with individuals of all ages. Sessions are held On-line or In-person. I also offer Walk-and-Talk Therapy sessions in the Huntington area. Moving our bodies energizes our minds and spirits and awakens us to new perspectives. Instead of the traditional setting of the office, or sitting at the computer facing one another, we will meet at a local park or neighborhood location where we will walk and talk, pausing on benches as needed to deepen the work that emerges. Some of us feel more comfortable in nature and being outside. When we are comfortable, we tend to open up more. As we walk, the forward movement helps us relax and let go. This enhances our ability to be more open and creative. I also offer Integration Therapy. This is available for those who are interested in exploring their experiences of psychedelics, breathwork, vision quests, sweat lodges, and silent retreats. In a non-judgmental space I can assist in helping you prepare, reflect, identify and understand specific images and narratives that may emerge. I can work with you in integrating these experiences into your understanding of yourself and how you navigate in the world. (Please note: I do NOT promote, advise, or provide psychedelics.)
