Michele Gayle, LMHC

Psychotherapist
WA
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 12 years of experience providing individual, couple, and group counseling. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with the last 4 years focused on telehealth/virtual counseling. I specialize in working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, Substance Use, and co-occurring disorders. I believe we are all a product of our experiences and our thoughts and feelings around those experiences. I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters interpersonal growth and overall well-being. Though our individual experiences may differ, the core of the human experience and the emotional challenges that may arise are what connect us, and this is why it drives me as a therapist. My approach Finding the "right" therapist for you can be a challenging process, but it is worth taking the time to do so. I have a more relaxed approach to counseling, with very few written homework assignments. I pride myself on my unconditional positive regard for clients. I provide a safe space for clients to express their thoughts, beliefs, and experiences without judgment. I believe each individual is an expert on themselves, and as a counselor, it is my job to guide them towards their own desires, expectations, and goals. The pace of counseling is as individual as the person in counseling. It is important to me to build rapport and trust, for some individuals, that can be achieved on day one, for others, it may take some time, and there is nothing wrong with either. Though it is important for a counselor to challenge a client's beliefs and/or offer other perspectives, I do not push my own ideologies nor dismiss the truths of my clients. In terms of modalities, I have an electric approach to counseling. I utilize tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person Centered Therapy.
