Since 2008, Michelle has practiced Mental Health Social Work, first in her home state of Connecticut and now in New York State.
Michelle specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, specifically depression, Bipolar 1 and 2, anxiety, and has extensive experience working with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
Throughout her career, Michelle has become proficient in treating clients through a trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-centered approach. She firmly believes that the client is the expert on their life, and she is the helper.
Treatment modalities Michelle uses while providing support include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Short-Term Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
Michelle received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work in Hartford, Connecticut.
