Michelle has been a licensed therapist in California for almost three years and brings a warm, empathetic approach to therapy. She has 13 years of experience in the mental health field, working in a nonprofit community counseling agency, a youth residential treatment center for at-risk youth, and providing one-on-one ABA services in the home. Michelle believes that during times of hardship, when people feel alone and hopeless, it can be difficult to recognize their own strength and resilience. She strives to help individuals see that they are stronger than they realize or feel. Michelle supports clients in finding the resources and tools needed to overcome everyday stress and life's unexpected challenges. She implements a combination of Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, CBT, and DBT approaches to meet each client's unique needs. Michelle helps people identify problematic behavior patterns, reflect on how their life experiences have shaped these patterns, and encourages them to explore possible solutions to experience problems in new ways. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a Psychology minor from California State University San Marcos and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix. In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends and caring for her pets.
