Getting to know Michelle Cortrite
I wholeheartedly believe that within every person lies the potential to heal and grow through healthy, non-judgmental, and attuned relationships. I provide the safe space and unconditional support necessary for my clients to better understand themselves, process unresolved wounds, cope with circumstantial changes, find meaning in their lives, and develop belonging in their communities. Always tailored to my client's needs and strengths, I draw from multiple therapeutic frameworks including acceptance and commitment therapy, eco-therapy, somatic therapies, and trauma- and resiliency-informed care. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles, and my Bachelor's degree from Smith College. Outside of session, I love getting salty in the ocean, finding a sense of belonging and peace in natural spaces, and loving on my elderly poodle, Risa.
