Psychotherapist

I work with individuals and families who have experienced trauma, whether from a single event or a series of distressing experiences. Trauma often disrupts daily life in various ways. Sometimes the impact is more noticeable, such as avoiding places associated with the trauma, while at other times it is more subtle, like persistent feelings of unease, difficulty focusing, or challenges in relationships. Many people affected by trauma hope to forget these painful experiences and move forward, seeking healing and resolution. What we know about trauma is that, while it's natural to want to avoid thinking about the event or events, our minds and bodies benefit from addressing them in a safe, trauma-informed environment. This doesn't mean clients are expected to recount every detail of what happened. Rather, we work toward healing together, gently confronting the trauma's impact. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to those navigating the effects of trauma.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have had the honor of working with many individuals and families who have experienced trauma and have witnessed their healing. I use a blend of evidence-based approaches, such as EMDR, TF-CBT, and DBT. I hold deep hope for individuals who have experienced trauma and believe that together we can create new paths forward. I look forward to talking with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I like to do a consultation call with all clients prior to accepting them into services to make sure I can meet their needs. I always do my best to refer to a different program or provider if I end up not being able to work with an individual. I care deeply about the people who call me and trust me with their inner world and I like using a warm and direct approach with clients. When starting services we will work towards getting to know each other and identifying some of the pain points and come up with a plan to move towards healing.
