Getting to know Michelle Gorden

I am Michelle Gorden, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and bring 20 years of experience in the field. My primary focus is on treating mood disorders, trauma, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), areas in which I specialize. With a laid-back demeanor, I strive to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for my clients. I embrace an eclectic approach to therapy, understanding that a one-size-fits-all method does not meet the unique needs of each individual. I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to address a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship and communication issues, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem and self-worth, and stress management.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients who are seeking support for a range of concerns, including managing anxiety or depression, healing from past trauma, improving relationships, navigating life transitions, enhancing self-esteem, and developing coping strategies for stress and everyday challenges. Our therapists are skilled in working with individuals, couples, and families, providing a holistic approach to therapy.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
