“Michelle gives off an immediate since caring and wanting to understand. She's very encouraging for me to open up and be understood. I feel that in a subtle way, she pushes me to work through things I have difficulties with. She's been the best therapist I've had so far. I'm very grateful for the short time we've worked together to improve my life. I am good at burying the difficult things in my life, which causes other stresses. Her confident patience is helping me to see that and deal with it.”

Getting to know Michelle Harris

Providing therapy for 18 years and licensed since 2013, I specialize in treating complex trauma and high-risk behaviors resulting from mental health disorders. Recognizing that mental health services are needed for oneself or family can often cause feelings of overwhelm, confusion, shame, guilt, and fear. My goal is to support you in sorting out these emotions while re-establishing a sense of hope. I truly value the unique beauty behind every mind and every story, believing clients hold the answers and therapists offer the tools and means necessary to help find them. My approach My goal is to establish a solid therapeutic relationship, explore underlying reasons for symptoms, and support in building the necessary skills to achieve personal goals. My focus As long as clients are willing to participate and engaged, they are doing all that they need to. My communication style My approach is friendly, and I try and use humor as appropriate. I ensure clients are active in session, yet assure we stay on task and not too distracted from session goals. My journey to mental healthcare I am very passionate about mental health and have been for the majority of my life. I am invested in the lives of every client, and I feel this quickly becomes evident. My goals for you Creating goals at our initial session and having regular monitoring of these goals is crucial to achieving desired outcomes. My first session with you The first session is rapport building. I want you to feel comfortable with me and my therapeutic style. Clients have an opportunity to share in detail what has brought them to therapy and their hopes for sessions. Sometimes clients choose to share information about previous therapy experiences and relevant history, which is welcomed! We will establish some therapy goals as appropriate.
