The journey of a thousand miles begins with that first step, and Michelle is glad you’re taking this first step. She has experience working with families, children, adolescents, and adults facing a variety of challenges and mental health diagnoses. Michelle is interested in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns while providing a safe space where clients feel comfortable and welcome to share their concerns. She developed her knowledge extensively working with children, adolescents, and families through community agencies that support therapeutic foster care for children experiencing PTSD from traumatic situations, as well as families facing difficulties. Her experience also includes addressing challenges unique to military families and working with couples in therapy. Michelle uses different types of therapies tailored to her clients’ preferences and needs, including play therapy for younger children. She most often employs solution-focused and trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapies, but the approach is always customized to the client. Michelle has a passion for helping clients discover the answers within themselves to determine how they want to grow or make changes in their lives. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, decorating, art and history, and watching movies.
