As we navigate life, we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed by change. Whether it is the loss of a loved one, a challenging life event, becoming a caregiver, or dealing with relationship issues, negative thoughts can easily alter our perceptions. No one should feel like they have to "just live with" anxiety, stress, and worry. My hope is that clients who work with me begin to recognize their anxiety as the body's early warning system-not an enemy to be vanquished. Therapy may not always feel fun, and it may take some work, but you are always worth the investment. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Florida State University, which has equipped me to support clients through these difficult transitions with empathy and skill.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy can sometimes feel intimidating, but it can be simply a commitment to trying something new to achieve a more positive result. The small steps we take in this journey to wellness may not seem like much at the start, but the end result can be amazing. What do you want to change? What do you hope to achieve? How can we do this together? My approach to therapy is to help people identify things in their life that they would like to change or improve, and assist in setting up a plan to do so.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typically individual therapy clients will meet with me for an initial evaluation to gather some history and identify the goals of the therapy sessions. After that we will set a schedule together to identify how often we see each other. As you learn strategies to help cope with stressors and start seeing improvements, then our sessions will occur less frequently.
