Michelle Keelan, LPC

Psychotherapist
3035 W 25th Ave, Denver, CO
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with a holistic approach to therapy that honors mind, body, and spirit. I bring warmth and curiosity to my work, offering a grounded, safe space where you can feel seen and heard, and where your experiences are met with compassion. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Regis University in 2017 and hold a postgraduate certificate in Depth Psychology. My approach blends humanistic counseling with an exploration of the deeper patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. I work with people navigating concerns around self-worth, boundaries, relationships, spirituality, and life transitions. Perhaps you’ve spent years meeting others’ needs and want to reconnect with your own. Or you may feel stuck in familiar patterns and want to understand yourself more fully. Together, we can explore what’s happening at a pace that feels right for you. Alongside conversation, I may incorporate inner child work, imagery, dream exploration, or expressive arts, depending on your interests and needs. If spirituality is meaningful to you, I welcome room for that, too, guided by your own beliefs and experiences. I believe you bring your own wisdom and strengths to therapy. My role is to help you recognize and build on them as you develop greater self-understanding, compassion for yourself, and confidence in the choices you make. I look forward to connecting with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a warm, grounded, and compassionate space where you feel seen and heard. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you. My approach is holistic, honoring the connections between mind, body, and spirit. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, emotions, and patterns with curiosity, while respecting your pace and readiness. I see therapy as a collaborative relationship, with room for both deeper exploration and practical changes in your daily life. Our work may include conversation, inner child work, imagery, dream exploration, or expressive arts, depending on what feels helpful to you. Spirituality is always welcome. My intention is to support you in understanding yourself more fully, recognizing your strengths, and building trust in your own inner wisdom.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before scheduling your first therapy session, I require a brief, complimentary phone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and determine whether my approach feels like a good fit for your needs. If we decide to move forward, our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and any questions or concerns you may have. You’re welcome to share at a pace that feels comfortable to you. Ongoing sessions typically begin with a check-in and space to explore what feels most important that day. We may focus on a current challenge, notice recurring patterns, or spend time with emotions and experiences that need attention. Depending on your interests, we may also incorporate imagery, inner child work, dream exploration, or expressive arts. Throughout our work, we’ll check in about how therapy is feeling and what is helpful, allowing the process to evolve with your needs and goals.
