Hello there! I am Dr. MiKi Kitchen, an LPC with about 10 years of practice. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic space where you can explore your strengths through proven therapy techniques that motivate a more engaged you. I believe life is more bearable when we share our burdens. Within that collaborative therapeutic relationship, you will gain insight into your reactions to life and live a more empowered, meaningful existence. My approach Do you feel like you’re just coasting through life? Want to be more engaged and grounded? When life becomes hectic and confusing, we often feel frustrated, angry, and alone, wondering, “What is the point?” There is another way! By utilizing your strengths, you will emerge from each session with renewed curiosity and excitement for what is possible. You deserve a place to articulate thoughts crowded out by self-doubt, trauma, or a sense of “Why bother.” You deserve time to explore! My focus I specialize in trauma recovery, life transitions, crises, anxiety/depression, attachment issues, and self-concept/esteem. My approaches include narrative therapy, trauma talk, mindfulness, and wellness techniques. My communication style Safe and relaxed conversational narrative. Clients find comfort and peace of mind. Many appreciate the collaborative rapport that allows clarity of thought and an objective perspective fostering healing. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because we lost that front porch where we could talk about life’s struggles and achievements. Being outside your life, I can find moments of brilliance that might otherwise be overlooked. I hold a PhD in Educational Psychology from Capella University and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, informing my compassionate, evidence-based approach to therapy.
